New York spring INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Included in the New York Internship Program

Spending a semester in New York City with the University of Dreams, comes complete with internship placement and housing for four months, contract academic credit, and various group activities planned that will allow you a chance to meet the other program participants.

Internship Placement: After enrolling in the program, you will be assigned an Internship Coordinator, who will evaluate your skills and abilities, revise your resume, and prepare you for phone interviews. At that point, you will begin selecting companies you would like to interview with, and the Internship Coordinator will begin setting up interviews, and ultimately assist you in securing a position you will be excited to accept. University of Dreams will guarantee placement in your chosen industry, as we have successfully placed over 99% of our participants.

Housing: Our housing is located within walking distance of Times Square and across the street from Madison Square Garden at the famous New Yorker Hotel. A portion of the hotel has been renovated and turned into student housing. We occupy several of the floors designated for college students. Your housing is included for the duration of the internship program. For a complete list of all the amenities, please see our housing section.

Contract Academic Credit: Included in the internship program is one (1) unit of contract academic credit through our partner school Menlo College. If you would like to sign-up for additional credit while spending your spring in New York, we have a partnership with UC Berkeley Extension, which will enable you to take online classes at additional costs. Please let us know if you are interested in this option.

On-Site Staff: In addition to the secured entry to the floors that we occupy in the New Yorker, you will have on-site staff to answer any questions you may have throughout the four months you are in New York. They will be able to assist you in any day-to-day concerns you may have.

Group Activities: Each month, University of Dreams participants will be offered discounted tickets for all the main attractions in New York. Participation is optional, but it is a cost-effective way to see all of the sites New York has to offer as well as meet other college students participating in the program. There are no sponsored activities included with our Fall & Spring programs.

Disclaimer: Unlike our all-inclusive summer programs, our Fall & Spring programs DO NOT INCLUDE meals, daily transportation to and from work, organized weekend activities, a welcome dinner, a graduation event, or seminars. The focus of this program is to offer affordable housing and internship placement for the Fall and Spring semesters.
